About Diana Stevenson
Diana Stevenson was appointed Judge of the Barberton Municipal Court in July 2023 after serving as Clerk of Court since January 2012. Diana is honored to be appointed Judge of the Barberton Municipal Court and to be serving the communities of Southern Summit County. She hopes to create new and expand existing programs in the office in order to best serve the citizens of the Barberton Municipal Court District.
Public Service
Diana has a long history of public service in the Court system. Most recently, she served as Clerk of the Barberton Municipal Court, a position she held for 12 years. During her tenure as Clerk, Diana worked to increase collection of outstanding fines and costs, as well as fostering an environment where her staff provided exceptional customer service for those citizens who use the Court.
Prior to becoming Clerk, Diana served as a Magistrate in Summit County Probate Court, a position she held for 12 years. Diana also served in the Summit County Prosecutor's Office, Civil Division, from 1996 through 2000, and as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Ohio (1995-1996), the Summit County Probate Court (1993 - 1995), and the Stark County Court of Common Pleas (1992 -1993).
Community
Diana is an active member of our community. She is a member of the Akron Bar Association, a Fellow of the Akron Bar Association, and she serves on the Economics Advisory Board of the University of Akron and the Honor's College Alumni Board of the University of Akron.
Education
Diana Stevenson received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron.
Family
She resides in Barberton with her husband, Scot, and two sons.
