Historic Preservation

The Department of Planning & Community Development (DPCD) through the Design Review Board is responsible for the issuance, inspection, and enforcement of Certificates of Appropriateness within the City of Barberton Downtown Historic District. The Design Review Board approves Certificates of Appropriateness based on the City of Barberton Design Guidelines. Fee Schedule

Each Application contains an associated fee for processing, staff review, and Design Review Board proceedings. The DPCD accepts payment in the form of cash or check. Please note that the DPCD does not hold cash on-site, therefore exact change is needed for an accepted form of payment. 

**Applicable applications, required documentation, and payments must be received by 10:00 A.M. of the filing date to be presented at the corresponding Design Review Board meeting date.**
