Barberton's History
Founded by industrialist entrepreneur O.C. Barber In 1891, Barberton was located along railroad lines, the Tuscarawas River and the Ohio Canal. It grew into a robust manufacturing town so quickly that it earned the “Magic City” nickname that remains to this day. Our history is built upon a legacy of business, manufacturing, renowned architecture, revolutionary agricultural practices and community pride. That same spirit of hard work, community and entrepreneurial spirit thrives today.

🐾🌈 Rainbow Bridge Dog Bone Memorial 🌈🐾
Our beloved pets may leave paw prints on our hearts forever, but the love we share with them never fades. ❤️🐶🐱
We invite our community to come together for a special Rainbow Bridge Dog Bone Memorial at Decker Park. A giant dog bone will be placed near the dog park, where pet owners can write the names of their cherished pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Each name represents a special bond, a lifetime of love, and memories that will always be treasured. 💕🐾
This memorial is a way for us to honor the pets who have touched our lives and remind one another that we are never alone in our grief. Whether your best friend was a dog, cat, or another beloved companion, every pet leaves a unique paw print on our hearts. 🐾🌈
✨ Come add your beloved pet’s name to our community memorial! ✨
📍 Location: Decker Park, 631 Brady Ave., near the dog park
🗓️ Memorial Signing Schedule:
🐾 Thursday, October 15: 5 PM–7 PM
🐾 Friday, October 16: 5 PM–6:30 PM
🐾 Saturday, October 17: 12 PM–2 PM during the Haunted Hound Hangout
🌧️ Rain Location (Signing the dog bone only): If it rains on Thursday and Friday during the scheduled times, the memorial will be moved indoors to the Active Adult Center at 500 W. Hopocan Ave. (Lake Anna YMCA), where you can still add your pet’s name.
The community memorial will be displayed at our Haunted Hound Hangout on Saturday, October 17, 2026, 12-2 p.m.. We welcome you to continue to add names on the bone at the event celebrating the unconditional love, loyalty, and joy our pets bring into our lives. ❤️
Let’s fill this giant dog bone with names, memories, and love, creating a beautiful tribute to the pets who will forever be part of our families. We welcome everyone to participate, share in this special moment, and help us honor the paws that will always remain in our hearts. 🐾🌈
Because they may be gone from our sight, but they are never gone from our hearts. ❤️
