The Magic Egg Hunt-Saturday, April 20: 11:00 a.m.

Spring egg hunting has arrived!  Meet at Tuscora Park, located on 5th St/Next to SUMMA Barberton Hospital.  There are four age group hunting area, 3 and under, 4-5, 6-7 and 8-9.  Promptly at 11:00 a.m. the sire will blare and hunting begins.  A note for a prize winning basket will be located in randomly colored eggs, four for each age group.  Baskets may be claimed at the pavilion with the ticket.  The Magic Bunny will be on location from 10:45-11:45 a.m. for pictures, bring your camera!

Grapes on the Lake-A Wine Tasting Event-Saturday, April 27; 5-9 p.m.

Join us for the popular wine tasting event at the Tadmor Shrine in Akron.  Tickets are $20 pre-sale and may be purchased at the Parks and Recreation Department Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  You may also call 330-861-7135 to purchase with a credit card.  Vendors include the Newman Cellars, It's Your Winery, Nauti Vine Winery, Sarah's Vineyard, Filia Cellars, Barrel Run Crossing Winery & Vineyards and Cana Valley Winery.  Tickets include 10 taste tickets to sample the wines, a commemorative wine glass, red rose for the ladies and a program.  There will be a silent basket auction and live music from Frank Valensizi.  Food will be available for purchase.  Produced by Barberton Parks and Recreation and the Barberton masonic Temple.  Proceeds benefit the Lake Anna Preservation Fund and Special Olympics.

Labor Day Celebration and Fireworks - Saturday, August 31

Paper Shredding Event-Saturday, September 7:  9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

ReWorks is offering a FREE confidential shredding event, open to Summit County residents and businesses at the Barberton Community Foundation Sports Complex , 841 Wooster Rd. W.  Summit County residents are invited to bring up to 10 file boxes or shopping bags of documents.  Participants are asked to remove and reuse binder clips, rubber bands, hanging file folders, binders, paperclips, report covers and plastic items.  Staples are fine.  All shredded documents will be recycled into new products.  For more information, please visit:  http://www.summitreworks.com/ or call 330-374-0383.

Fall Family Fun Night-Saturday, October 12:  4-7 p.m.

Fall fun with hayrides, face painting,inflatables and food available for purchase.  Held at the BCF Sports Complex.

Lake Anna Park Holiday Lighting-Saturday, November 30:  6:00 p.m.

Beginning, November 30 and continuing through January 1, lights are turned on at 5:00 p.m. daily and remain on until 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday evenings, and until 10:00 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays.  Lake Anna Park is located at 615 W. Park Avenue in Barberton.
