Assistant Planning Director
The City of Barberton is accepting resumes for Assistant Planning Director. Under general direction, assists in managing the Office of the Planning Commission to include supervision to staff and preparation of department budgets. Assists Planning Director in a variety of supervisory, administrative and professional work in the areas of long range comprehensive planning, zoning, community development, historic preservation, urban design, marketing, grant writing and public presentations. Starting salary: $54,462.15.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in geography, urban studies, urban planning, project management, public administration or similar field or four (4) years governmental planning experience required (or combination). Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License and must be insurable under the City’s insurance policy.

Manager Distribution & Collection
The City of Barberton is accepting resumes for a Manager of Distribution and Collection. The Manager of Distribution and Collection directs and coordinates the operation of assigned personnel; directs and coordinates operations of contractors and consultants ensuring compliance with local, regional, state and federal regulations; evaluate systems to identify actual or potential issues; prepares estimates, invoices, supplies bids and public project notices; responsible for customer and public inquiries; maintains inventory of materials and supplies; prepares reports and other documentation.
Starting salary: $62,211.00 up to $79,237.42 depending on level of experience.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering preferred, plus five (5) years’ experience in water distribution and sanitary sewer system construction, maintenance and repair, including experience in management, or equivalent combination of training and/or experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License and must be insurable under the City’s insurance policy.
