Employment Opportunity: The Southwest Summit Communications Board is currently accepting applications for a Dispatch Manager

The Dispatch Manager is responsible for the supervision of the Southwest Summit Communication (SWSCOM) dispatch center and under the direct supervision of the SWSCOM governing boards. The Dispatch Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the joint dispatch center including but not limited to the direct management of the center, scheduling of full and part-time dispatchers, establishing policies and procedures, budgeting and keeping informed of new issues and technologies affecting dispatch operations.  The candidate must possess the knowledge and or ability to develop and implement policies essential to the function of the dispatch center.

The Dispatch Manager is a salaried position, working 40 hours per week Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am-5:00pm.  The Dispatch Manager is also on call and may need to be available for weeknights and weekends as necessary. The salary ranges is $63,000 - $72,000 depending on experience, knowledge and qualifications.  

Offers of employment will be made after acceptable candidates complete an application review, dispatch assessment, panel interview and extensive background investigation.  Additional requirements are successfully completing a pre-hire assessment to include psychological testing, medical examination and drug screen.

High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required.   Starting salary of $21.87 per hour.   Extra credit may be obtained for residency, military, CDL and prior City of Barberton employment and will be added to a passing score of 70%. Proof must be attached to application. Testing fee:   $20.00 cash (non-refundable), to be paid with return of application.
